The strength of the Fintech ecosystem in Belgium lies in the B2B solutions. The SFPI-FPIM will capitalise on that strength, by supporting the development of innovative solutions in the B2B sector and thus meeting the challenges of the financial sector.

At the same time, the SFPI-FPIM would continue to ensure the long-term stability of the financial system, by watching over the anchoring of strategic assets such as banks, insurance companies and the infrastructure of financial markets, in line with its strategy for ‘strategic assets’ (Belfius, Ethias, BNP Paribas, Euronext and Euroclear).

The plan to centralise government shareholdings in Belfius, Ethias and BNP Paribas at the SFPI-FPIM, is in line with that objective.
